Six Tastes. One Plate. One Idea.

One of us grew up with Ugadi, the Telugu New Year — a festival with roots stretching back around 2,000 years. Tradition says you start the year with a single dish made of six tastes at once: sweet, sour, salty, spicy, bitter and tangy, all on one plate. Not by accident. The idea is simple and a little stubborn — the year ahead won't just be good, so don't just eat like it will be. Joy and hardship, ease and effort, all worth tasting, all worth getting through.

The other founder had never heard of it — not the dish, not the festival, not the idea behind it — until a trip to Andhra Pradesh put that plate in front of him. He's been back since. He'll go again. Some things follow you home. That plate is where KRUNX really started. Not as a gimmick, but as a genuine argument about what a menu should do. One of us wanted range. The other wanted flavour you could trust without thinking twice. Turns out those aren't opposites — they're the same six tastes, just dressed differently: Seoul Fire instead of chilli, Honey BBQ instead of jaggery, Maple Sriracha doing the work tamarind used to do.

A menu that doesn't flinch from heat, doesn't ignore sweetness, and never pretends one flavour is ever enough. We're not asking you to know any of this to enjoy a box of wings. Most people won't, and that's fine — the chicken has to earn its place on its own. But if you made it this far, you already know more about why KRUNX exists than most people ever will. Six flavours. One idea. Crispy, hot, bold — and properly thought through.
